Stopover in South Africa
On our overnight stopover on the way here we gained a new honest friend: SIM missionary, RJ Kastner. He showed me a paper which I had to have! When I gave him a dollar for it, he said I paid 200 times more than it was worth !

We enjoyed a visit in Tony & Julia's home.
Good things always seem to be happening to missionaries;
however, the Lord also carries us through tough spots in order to smooth off our sharp edges...
see Psalm 68.19.

New Grandchild
Youngest grandchild is a year old already !
Renting out our house while we were in Africa worked out well for us.
Living in Lilongwe, Malawi, was a GREAT experience.
Everyone should visit Liberia and Malawi.

Repairing the Electric Fence Alarms
Three pairs of fence alarms were working on the repair bench, and one pair was installed before we left. The radio station Manager/Engineer installed the other two.
We enjoyed our stay in Malawi immensely. We were happy and BUSY, and we felt that we were useful.

Getting a lot done
I was happy to stay home while the chief engineer drove 200 miles north to Mzuzu and fixed the transmitter. The HCJB/CROWN transmitters are very trouble free. ABC has two stations here in Malawi.
I was glad to get the three pairs of alarms fixed. These activate an alarm when any one of the six sections of the electric fence has been compromised. You can always pray about my priorities which have a way of always needing to be realigned.

Storybook Characters at ABCCA
Everyone dresses up as a storybook character one day every year at African Bible College Christian Academy. Later today I hope to post some pictures for you.
One student used egg cartons to make the back of a crocodile. It was superbly done, and he got a prize for the most original.
One little boy came as Tarzan, king of the apes. he even brought a big piece of vine with him. It was a pretty original thought.
The smallest guy came dressed as the man in the yellow hat (Curious George's owner). He looked special, and he won an award for the best homemade costume in his age group.
There were two age groups: Reception (K-4) through grade 2 and Grades three through five. One little guy had a box around him with a horses head on it, and he was dressed as a knight in shining armor. He won the award for most original costume in his age group. It's hard to believe how the people got into this thing.
They went all out to dress their children as a storybook character. I wanted to be Cinderella's cruel stepmother, but the top of the two-piece dress I tried on didn't fit, so I decided to be the pied piper.
A Malawian Teacher Assistant decided to be the Pied Piper, too, and he even came dragging two paper rats behind him on string. Somewhere he got ahold of some beady eyes to put on the rats, and he had a recorder to play a tune on.
